Projects in public Space

In the urban landscape  visual communication is dominated by branding, advertising and functional signage. Artistic interventions have the potential to reclaim this territory by offering alternative interpretations and slowing the pace of reception. In this way, public spaces become more than backdrops for movement and commerce; they become active sites of discourse where meaning can be renegotiated.
The interplay of text and image in urban environments can challenge established narratives, encouraging passers-by to consider ideas beyond their daily routines. A sentence glimpsed on a billboard, for example, can spark an unexpected chain of thought, while an image in a shop window can alter how a street is perceived. These gestures may be subtle, yet they permeate the shared fabric of the city, engaging with audiences through encounter rather than invitation. Such interventions create brief interruptions in the commercial flow, offering moments of pause that open up space for other questions: Who shapes the messages of the city? Whose voices are heard? And how might we collectively share different messages with the world? Each of us has a window — both literal and metaphorical — framing images that we see and that see us, shaping how we see and how we are seen.
